Authentication¶

Changing your password, adding or removing two-factor authentication devices¶

Head over to auth.shabez.me. This will work whether you are connected to tailscale or not.
Log in with your account details
on the top right, click your icon and then settings
to change passwords, or 2fa methods, you will have to confirm using the code sent to your email

NOTE: whenever you change your password here, you must update your jellyfin password separately.

Tailscale¶

In order to access most things on the server, you must be a part of our tailnet.

iOS/macOS/tvOS¶

For an apple device, you can follow the instructions here

Jellyfin¶

Download the jellyfin app for your device. You can also use the website at jellyfin.shabez.me You must be connected to the tailnet for this to work.

Logging in¶

If using an app, then add https://jellyfin.shabez.me as the server. Then, when prompted, click "add user" and enter your login details. - By default, your username and password should match your authentication details, but they may be different if you changed your password there.

Using jellyfin on TV devices¶

Typing your password on TV is a pain in the ass. After logging in on your phone, you can use the quick connect functionality of the app.

On the TV app, connect to tailscale, download the jellyfin app, add the server, click "add user".
Instead of password login, make sure you select "quick connect". Jellyfin should display a code on your TV.
Log in to jellyfin on your phone
click the icon for your profile, then choose "Quick Connect" and enter the code to authorize the TV. You must be connected to tailscale for it to work.

Requesting media¶

Simply click "Make a request" in the jellyfin sidebar and you will be redirected to request.shabez.me (you can also visit it directly). Log in with your jellyfin details.

Try it, the page is actually pretty good for finding stuff to watch.
